Effective June 2026
The CNAHS Loyalty Program (VITAL, we, our) is operated by the Howard University College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences Council for students, faculty, and organization leaders at Howard University. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your data.
1. Information we collect
- Your name and Howard University email address (@howard.edu or @bison.howard.edu).
- Academic details you enter during onboarding: major, classification, and expected graduation year.
- Your CNAHS activity: events you check in to, RSVPs, volunteer hours logged, points earned, and rewards level.
- Your organization affiliations if you register as an organization administrator.
- Basic account metadata such as sign-in timestamps and account status.
- We do not collect device location, contacts, health data, financial data, or advertising identifiers.
2. How we use your information
- To authenticate you via your Howard University account.
- To award and track loyalty points from event check-ins.
- To surface upcoming events, organizations, and rewards relevant to you.
- To send transactional emails such as password reset codes.
- To let organization administrators see attendance for events they host.
- To let the CNAHS Council see aggregate engagement analytics.
3. Who we share information with
- Organization administrators can see the name and attendance records of students who check in to their events.
- The CNAHS Council (super admins) can see all student and organization information for governance purposes.
- Emails are delivered through Resend, our transactional email vendor. Resend receives only the recipient email and message body.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or unrelated third parties.
4. Data retention & deletion
We keep your information only while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Account → Delete my account inside the app. Deletion is immediate and removes your personal profile, attendance records, RSVPs, password-reset codes, and organization admin requests. Aggregate, anonymized engagement statistics may be retained for CNAHS Council reporting.
5. Your rights
- Review or edit your profile (major, classification, graduation year) at any time from the Profile tab.
- Delete your account and personal data from Profile → Account → Delete my account.
- Contact the CNAHS Council for any privacy request that cannot be handled in-app.
6. Security
Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. All network traffic is encrypted with TLS. Access to administrative data is restricted to approved organization administrators and the CNAHS Council.
7. Children's privacy
The app is intended for enrolled Howard University students, faculty, and staff, all of whom are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page will change when we do. Material changes will also be surfaced in-app.
9. Contact
Questions or requests about your data can be sent to the CNAHS Council at
